There are many vintage Seiko watches popular with Seiko enthusiasts, and for good reason - Seiko discovered the secret to manufacturing stylish and affordable watches, as far back as the 1950s.

One of these is the 1950s Seiko Special manual-wind womens mechanical dress watch here.  Dainty by design, this watch is a perfect accompaniment for a night out on the town.

This  Seiko is powered by one of the Japanese company's early mechanical movements, debuting in the early 1950s.   Dial design is superb, with its classic Arabic-style hours indices and subdial seconds complication - a fantastic and stylish combination.

Many Seiko watches from the 1960’s through the mid-1980’s have rightly gone down as design classics, building a considerable following amongst watch collectors.

Conversely, some truly gorgeous watches from the same era produced by the same company have quietly slipped under the radar for the simple reason they were designed for the typically slighter of wrist, ie: women - like this Seiko Special here.

And it’s a shame, because many of these smaller watches feature exquisite details – Seiko found an original, great looking formula for its watches, and stuck with it.

This ladies Seiko Special comes with two nylon straps, and with rugged travel case and springbar tool.
