Seiko’s Sport Diver series – such as the full serviced early 1969 Seiko 6119-6050 automatic "rally" Sports diver here – were popular and quite reminiscent of the late 1960’s and 1970’s chic.  
 
Easily discernible, this particular 6119 diver obtained its "rally" nickname from the distinctive colors, inner tachymeter, and distinctive bezel insert.  These, like the more readily found 6106/6119 saucers series, were perhaps the most colorful of all the Sports divers.
 
This 6119 variant features a double bezel - an inner bi-directional plastic bezel/inner tachymeter, under the crystal, showing 12 hours, with four hours in blue and the remaining eight hours in green.  This inner ring rotates via the crown.  The second, outer bi-directional bezel shows 60 minutes, 0-10 minutes serve as a warning sign to start sign for a sailing regatta; 11-20 minutes, for 10 minutes count down from start (if not past the starting line, sailor counted as a non-starter).
 
Seiko designed the 6119 series as 70 meter diver watches aimed at “light” water sports that gained widespread popularity during the late 1960’s and 1970’s; however, these did not feature diving bezels.  Seiko made literally hundreds of Sports diver variations during this time period, with the Japanese manufactures’ Suwa and Dani factory seemingly in competition with one another to see which could devise the most compelling models.
